Autumn Winter 2011 collections in store and online now…

It’s that time of year again, when we wave goodbye to the summer and welcome back the winter. It’s not all doom and gloom though ladies. The girls at Jane Davidson have also welcomed some fabulous AW11 lines…

Diane Von Furstenberg

Let’s start with our beloved DVF. We were struck by the powerfully bold burgundy, gold and black & white geometric prints this season. We adore the black & white hound-tooth wrap jumpsuit, if you’re a fan of the 1970’s disco era you’ll adore this piece.

The collection moves into block colours of mellow jades, khaki yellows and fabulous light teals. If you’re a fan of the block-colour trend, you’ll want to snap up the square cut smock in liquid-blue - This simply cut garment is perfect if you fancy a wardrobe statement that will stand the test of time.

DVF’s AW collection includes some seriously must-have bags! Deep browns and lush burgundy leathers with oversized tassels make for a great everyday bag, it’s a perfect size to hold all those daily essentials without being bulky.

If you’re looking for a bag that’s more compact but full of useful compartments, the Harper Handbag is the satchel for you. This little gem is ideal for the technology lovers out there as it has a sneaky Ipad compartment – Ideal for the girl on the go!

Erdem

Erdem’s AW11 collection has masterfully made each garment look like a work of art. If you’re a fan of beautifully crafted textiles that exudes luxury, you will adore this collection. The Kimberly and Hayley top are ideal for injecting a touch of sunshine into the winter wardrobe – beautiful lightweight silk with a floral watercolour print is simply breath-taking.

For the ideal work-to-play outfit, the must-have dress this season has to be the powermesh dress – this bold dress is the perfect cut for the office and impeccable dressed up with chic accessories for an evening of cocktails.

Pringle of Scotland

As the nights draw in and the weather returns to the chilly norm we all know too well, we can take comfort in the knowledge Pringle of Scotland have put together a fabulous range to wrap up warm in.
Pringle’s AW11 range is a stunning collection of staple cashmere, wool felt and textured tweed garments. We also love the accents of leather introduced this season - It gives the range a slightly edgy touch.

The tweed sleeveless shift-dress is a real mix of fabrics. Textured tweed centre panel, coupled with wool side panels and beautiful plum leather binding round the arm and neckline - Pringle have excelled in combining so many luxury fabrics in one fabulous dress.

Pringle have also released some cute cropped trousers this season. Beautifully soft wool and cashmere felt make for a classy, on-trend fashion statement - It’s hard not to like these charming trousers and they are guaranteed to last season in, season out.

Jane Davidson’s July Fashion Show...

cosy with Dries Van Noten; Accessorise courtesy of Fabiana Filippi and make a statement in Gerard Darel...

The girls at Jane Davidson held a most successful fashion show on the 28th of July and of course Ms Packham’s dresses were a main feature. This stunning collection harks back to the most glamorous of 1930 flapper design – You’re sure to be a knock-out in any of her statement outfits. A firm favorite with the celebs, including Jane Davidson’s gal of the moment, Catherine The Duchess of Cambridge. Jenny Packham’s range of sequin dresses are sure to inject a touch of glitz and glamour into any wardrobe.

Also featured in the show were a few of our new designers.

Gerard Darel

We are loving Gerard Darel’s camel coat. This classic cut is a staple garment for any fashion savvy lady - Dress it up or wear it casually, you are guaranteed to make an impression.

Dries Van Noten

Anyone who is familiar with this Belgian Designer will know just how fabulous his knitwear is, so at Jane Davidson we simply had to feature his stunning oversized chunky-knit jumper. This is the perfect comfort garment for those cold, wet and miserable summer days Scotland is known and loved for.

Fabiana Filippi

A design house known for outstanding knitwear design, we thought it was time to buck the trend and highlight the stunning range of accessories available this season. Earthy neutral colourings coupled with metallic and crystal touches, make for a beautiful balance. We love the fine-knit oatmeal coloured scarves, they’re a great summer time alternative to your trusty heavy duty winter knits.

A Right Royal Affair...

Why not take a quick peek at our pick of the most stylish guests at the wedding of the Queens Lizzy’s eldest grandchild, Zara Phillips and rugby ace, Mike Tindall...

No.5
Sophie, Countess of Wessex

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, looked pretty in pale pink as she opted for a stylish, pale, skirt suit. She also went for nude pumps and a matching hat.

No.4
Katherine Kelly

Aside from all the well dressed royals, Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly shone as one of the most stylish guests. Her floaty nude asymmetric dress with matching slingbacks, orange clutch and an oversized hat with a splash of neon pink looked every inch style chic.

No.3
Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie opted to wear a cream and chocolate brown skirt suit by the designer, Angela Kelly. She also accessorised her look with nude pumps and a fairly understated hat.

No.2
The Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess looked the epitome of wedding guest chic in a pale gold brocade dress coat by Jane Troughton – the very same dress coat she wore to the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles back in 2006 – teamed with nude courts (did anyone not?) by L.K. Bennett, a box clutch and a large sweeping hat...

No.1
Of course our top place must go to the blushing bride, herself.
Zara Phillips.

The bride looked surprisingly traditional in a Stewart Parvin Ivory silk gown. The corseted bridal dress with layers of lace beneath the skirt created just enough volume. She completed the look with a veil held in place with a Greek Key tiara handed down to her from her mother, Princess Anne.

As we are still in the height of the wedding season, the Girls at Jane Davidson have decided to award the, ‘must have,’ style prize to the trusty skirt suit – A perfect outfit that can be dressed up for the occasion using a sweeping styled head piece and of course, no skirt suit can be worn without those trusty... nude pumps.

Love,

The Girls
