Having previously blogged about my first pair of amazing Jeffrey Campbell's I find it only right to share the upcoming collaboration available from them next week via Solestruck.

The statement shoe company have decided to design a range alongside quirky graphic designers Black Milk.

Megan and I love Black Milk's galactic prints, my personal favourite being the leggings. It is this galaxy print that has been previewed as the first shoe available from the range.

Hopefully I can add these to my collection and start a small Jeffrey Campbell shrine as they possibly are the most comfortable heel I own.

Autumn 2012 Beauty Showdown

While it’s not yet possible to get the iconic fashion items of the Autumn/Winter 12 collections, we can start preparing our skin not only for the colder conditions but for the key ‘look’s of the beauty world for this season.

We’ll show you what we’re loving (and hating) for the season to come.

Straight off the catwalk at Chanel is the bejazzled eyebrow. Sequins, studs, paint – whatever - it’s not a trend we’ll be rocking down thistle street. We’re still in love with big bushy browns as shown at the Marc Jacobs show ( we suggest HD Brows – perfect!)

The Morning after eye as seen at Marc Jacobs...usually patched up with a lick of Touche Eclat, is fast becoming a huge trend....we’re still unconvinced here! Apparently teaming it with luminous skin helps....I'll leave this one to the professionals.

The faux bob. We know what it’s like – you grow your hair for months on end and then finally decide actually you want a bob (or the pob a few seasons ago) As shown at Rodarte you can now recreate that look with some hairspray, backcombing and a few hair pins. Pob Perfection (we all love the matt nail shown here too!)

The red lip. Always a fashion staple, a good red lipstick will last as long as a pair of M Missoni trousers or a DVF wrap dress. Vibrant red lips were seen at Thakoon, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jonathan Saunders and Rick Owens. Personally I am a big, big fan of the vintage red lip. Definitely my favourite trend to come!!

Stephanie Laird Luxury Cashmere

We are so excited as next season we will be stocking the luxury Scottish cashmere brand Stephanie Laird.

Her designs are just fabulous - stunning coats in navy and one in grey that just hug you but are so light at the same time. You will never want to take it off !!!!

Her other pieces we have chosen are just as beautiful they should be arriving in july a date for your diary.

DVF Kids Where???

As you all know DVF is one of our most popular brands in the boutique, and you can imagine our excitement when we first heard that Diane was designing a collection for Gap kids. (see our 7th March blog!)

The collection is being launched today and we were first in line this morning at the Gap Princes Street branch. However, there was nothing to be found...where could it be we thought? After much questioning and baffled disappointment we found out from the sales assistant that DVF Kids will not actually be launched in the Edinburgh store- or even Scottish stores!!!

In fact, the closest branch will be the Trafford centre- IN MANCHESTER!!!!! Fail not as we can buy online, but not quite the same.

We still love Diane, but this is a bit of a let down in our opinion...we just wonder if Diane knows???

Me? I'm mourning the fact that I can't wear black opaque tights and boots anymore.

Months of spray tanning, waxing and general grooming lie ahead.

This new dress by Victoria Beckham did put a smile on my face though....
Love the nude base and easy to wear shape.

Only problem is I don't like cats.....

We've braved the Edinburgh Winter but I can truly say that I think Summer is on it's way!!!

With the weather hitting 18c in the city this week we can celebrate by getting the Summer dresses out of the wardrobe, baring the frostbitten legs and applying the factor 50!



We've celebrated by receiving the Victoria Beckham sunglasses in. We've all tried them on - from the classic Audrey Hepburn style to the 18carat gold aviators (I am in LOVE!) - and we each have a favourite style.



These are the perfect sunglasses for sitting in the garden with a good book or doing some retail therapy VB style. Prices start from £305.

What A Relief!

What a Relief!

Well . . .did you watch it last night? Sport Relief raised a staggering £50 million, with Fashion featuring noticeably throughout. From Miranda Hart’s ghastly green frock and Union Jack cape disaster to the adorable Ab Fab team (joined this time by Kate Moss, Stella McCartney and the gorgeous David Gandy), it was quite a sight for sore eyes! That’s if there were any dry eyes in the house, either from laughing or crying. Well done everyone!

March Fashion Show

Last night Jane Davidson was full of fantastic colour and fabulous fashion!

We had our Spring/Summer in-store fashion show. Showcasing our newest deliveries from Nicole Miller, Dries van Noten, Armani Collezioni, Diane von Furstenberg, J Brand and MiH Jeans along with lots more.



The best looks came from Diane von Furstenberg and the beautiful Erdem...we're all still lusting after the scarves Megan mentioned on the blog a couple of weeks ago!

Spring Time

At last Spring has well and truly arrived !!

It makes such a difference to the way we feel and of course how we dress.

Colour plays such an important role in our wardrobe at this time of year, we can update with a touch of it. My personal favourite is the neon colour blocking by Goat this year- I definitely need a piece of this!

We had a fabulous morning Fashion Show and everyone seemed to adore the variety the models wore so well, so much so that we have had to change a few outfits for tonight's show. Pop in store and take a look at all the mouthwatering colours on show.

Goodbye Pop-Up Shop

The past 8 weeks have just flown past in Jane Davidson!

It is nearly time to say goodbye to our pop-up shop, Jane's Dressing Room. If you have had your eye on an Erdem dress or a Clements Ribeiro coat, now is the time to get it!

Tomorrow is the last day of our shop on Stafford Street, we will be sad to see it go.

I'm never sure that just because you have the worlds top designers at your feet, it means that you are ready to become one of them. So, when I read that the latest wannabe is Rihanna, I'm both scared and intrigued... are we ready for tiny shorts and animal prints?!, or maybe it will be a toned down version of the queen of sexy outfits... watch this space

Another crazy week in Thistle Street....

Yet another mental week here in Thistle Street. We have unpacked loads of exciting new deliveries - from Dries, Erdem and Victoria Beckham to name but a few....This weekend is the last weekend - yes I repeat THE LAST WEEKEND!!! of our pop up store in Stafford Street. Summer lines have been added so go before it's too late..

On Friday we are looking forward to being part of the annual Spring Lunch at the fabulously refurbished Sheraton Hotel. Our partners in crime are Hamilton & Inches, Charlie Miller and Space NK. We look forward to a great show and perhaps a cheeky glass of something fizzy afterwards. 320 Edinburgh ladies will be supporting MacMillan Cancer - such a worthwhile cause.

New Dries- Yes Please

For those in the know, Dries Van Noten is THE go to designer if you want to stand out from the crowd in the best possible way. His use of beautiful fabrics, unusual prints and genius cut make the fashion pack fall in love every season.
For the Dries loving ladies of Jane Davidson, today has been a very happy one as we have had yet more amazing pieces arrive in store.

My favourite with out a doubt is a silk and cotton printed coat. Be warned: once you try it on you will want to wear it everywhere.... sounds good to me!

Marni Madness!

I have to personally apologise for the delayed blog post - I've just got over the shock of this morning's events!

I was deployed by Sarah to snoop out the Marni at H&M this morning from my regular post on Thistle Street and it has made my week - the rush of the queuing, the fantastic prints and the quirky accessories.



I was very lucky to be in the third time group (die-hard Marni fan Mandy from JD was first in line!) and unfortunately anyone behind me didn't stand much chance. I got some fantastic earrings which I can't wait to wear, perspex bracelets (which I have to keep my eye on because I think Catherine at JD quite fancies them!), a classic silk printed dress and top. My favourite piece - has to be the cartoon printed tee - perfect with skinny jeans and a blazer.








What was my highlight - the earrings and bracelets - chunky perspex with a bit of added sparkle. What I wished there was more of - the necklaces and coats.



But all in all, reporting from the frontline of fashion I've come away unscathed and a couple of pennies less but with some fantastic new additions to my Spring/Summer wardrobe.

The girls are loving Ombre Hair!

What could be better than a trend where you can just dye your hair once every 12 months!

It started with the Californian Girl in the just after the turn of the millennium. Think Jennifer Anniston post Rachel but pre Angelina, and is defined by the mid-tip length being dyed contrasting colours from the root.



Megan has just entered the trend with what she's classing as 'My Little Pony' hair - a mix of purple and lilac. Unfortunately, Megan is probably the 1% of population who could get away with this colour combo. But it looks amazing.

I've just entered into the trend but going for a slightly more traditional colour... I don't think the pink was for me and so far I'm loving it!

Paris Fashion Week

The girls at Jane Davidson are this morning enjoying La Duree french macaroons with their coffee this morning - fresh from Paris fashion week.

I spent a whirlwind weekend in Paris buying gorgeous brands such at Dries van Noten, Erdem and Victoria Beckham.


Those of you who follow me on twitter (@janedavidsonuk) will know that I bumped into P Diddy in Collette and am dreaming about the new Harper bag by Victoria Beckham.


So that is another buying season finished. Feeling totally inspired and counting the days till the stock arrives.

I had intended to write my blog first thing this morning, as soon as I arrived in the Boutique. However, it’s now after 4pm and Nikki, my manager has reminded me that I am running out of time- where has the day gone!

At lunchtime I managed to flip through Tatler, one of my favourite magazines, whilst eating my salad. I always feel inspired by the catwalk photos and fashion shots and my enthusiasm is revitalised each time I open a new magazine. One particular piece that stood out from this issue was a floor length Jenny Packham gown which is just exquisite! Take a peek inside and I’m sure you will be brimming with ideas for the forth coming season.

Beauty Update

It has been a few weeks now since I made my departure into the world of BB (Beauty Balm) cream. I must say that the results are very positive, it's so nice to use a product which for once delivers some of what it promises!

The Garnier cream that I have been using is a real joy to apply and gives a dewy glow rather than suffocating skin under a heavy base. At this time of year it 's exactly what I want- light, simple and effective. It also lasts all day and gives a little bit of colour....I really do think i'm smitten!!! In my opinion it is perfect for the hectic lifestyle that we all love to hate these days...

Far from being scientific, all I can give is my honest opinion, and honestly- I think it rocks!!!!
