Diane von Furstenberg's new fragrance is gorgeous and it's £47 for the eau de toilette. We also have the cutest coin purses at £49 and a selection of pure silk and pure cashmere scarves from £125- £189.

...Victoria Beckham awarded best Designer Brand!

Congratulations to Victoria Beckham for being awarded the Designer Brand of the year at the British Fashion Awards last night.

We’re so excited here at Jane Davidson, as we are soon to receive our first delivery from the Victoria Beckham, Victoria SS12 collection.

My Week with Marilyn

Today I am really excited about the release of the film 'My Week with Marilyn', which comes out today.

It's the story of a man who falls in love with Marilyn Munroe when he meets her whilst she is filming the Prince and the Showgirl. I'm looking forward to seeing it because it has a brilliant cast, Michelle Williams, Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh along with Emma Watson and Judi Dench.The main reason why I'm excited about seeing this film though is because of the costumes! Marilyn Munroe was one of the most glamerous women ever and her style is beautiful, so the costumes in this film will probably be to die for. Let's hope that Michelle Williams can capture Marilyn's very iconic style.

Classic fragrances are making a comeback

Scents that evoke nostalgic feelings and conjure up those warm memories of your childhood are on the comeback - About time too, I say!

I adore the power of perfumes and the potent effect they have on us. I’m not just referring to the quintessential woman’s scent, Chanel No.5 or Guerlain's Shalimar. 2012 heralds a new breed of fabulous perfumes that represent the, ‘powerful woman.’
One to look out for is Diane von Furstenberg’s debut.

A fashion designer better known for the birth of the wrap-dress has released her 1st ever fragrance, and what’s more fitting than a scent driven by passion and a “mission” to empower women? Simply named, Diane her inspiration is taken from the world around her and frankly it is certain to become a classic fragrance for the mature, confident womanly lady.

The gorgeous Odyssey Boutique

In our daily Blog we like to share things we like and think you may like too.

A recent find of mine was Odyssey Boutique a gorgeous lingerie boutique in the West End. It is at the end of William Street, the old Vanilla Bloom site and is owned by the glamorous Sarah ex Boudiche/Harvey Nichols.

I had 5 minutes and a grumpy toddler in tow. She got it completely and I emerged with a new lingerie wardrobe.
Never underestimate the importance of well fitting underwear in terms of how you feel and how your clothes feel on.

Sam the beautician does a mean hot wax too!

Missoni Wedding

Congratulations are in order for Margherita Missoni who has just got engaged to her racing-driver boyfriend Eugenio Amos.

The heiress and ambassador of the colourful Italian label is due to wed some time next year in the Italian town of Sumirago.

Forget the anticipation that befell the Duchess of Cambridge's Alexander McQueen masterpiece- simply imagine a Missoni inspired wedding! Iconic would not even begin to describe it...dum dum de dum...

Chic High Heels... For Men?

According to reports in The Daily Mail, the Times Online and a few other entertainment sources in the past few days, there is a new fashion that is all the rage – high heels for men.

No ladies, I’m not talking about drag heels, nor am I talking about those camouflaged built-in platforms Tom Cruise thinks no one notices (We know exactly what your game is Cruise, you’ve got nobody fooled.)

Designers such as Gareth Pugh, Rick Owen and Yves Saint Laurent are producing some fairly high rising style statement, I’m just not convinced this trend’s going to catch on in Scotland. Do you…?

Versace for H n M

Versace launched in H n M this morning. Cut price gorgeousness- or is it?

Donatella has been putting in an appearance at Regent street and the website has ground to a halt.Do you think the Edinburgh store was queued out? I think not. I walked past the Versace windows yesterday and was a little bit underwhelmed. Very Versace but relevant today??? Mmmmmm- not what I would chose to wear.
Perhaps because I wore it the first time round! Eeek!

Victoria Beckham comes to Edinburgh

Victoria Beckham sure is having a busy week in the states. On Monday she was honoured to win Best Emerging Luxury Brand at the Walpole awards and yesterday she was speaking at the WWD CEO Summit Apparel and Retail.

The girls at Jane Davidson are sooooooo excited about the brand arriving instore. From early January - you heard it here first.

Oh and we're getting the bags and sunglasses too! Woo Hoo!

Ps the account manager for Victoria Beckham sunglasses is called Sunshine. Seriously!

Catherine's Erdem dress has arrived

The Erdem pre-collection has arrived and the girls at Jane Davidson were particularly excited to unwrap the navy lace dress that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her recent visit to Canada.
Clever girl - as Erdem is actually Canadian but shows at London Fashion Week.

We love the dress - it is beautifully made and ticks all the boxes.

On the knee, fitted but not body con, sheer sleeve....
Think would look better with some curves inside it though....

That's Xmas nailed

For the last couple of weeks I have been loving my Shellac nails.

Pretty similar to Chanel Rouge Noir - have been channelling Uma Thurman.
Short and neat in shape, deadly in colour. I love Shellac as it lasts for at least a couple of weeks and has zero dry time. I'm a terrible smudger!

Only drawback is you have to give your nails a rest in between and it requires salon removal.

So imagine how excited I was when I saw the new sparkly Shellac - launched just in time for Christmas. Am booking my appointment now.
