Sneak peak at AW10

Have a little glance to see what has us Jane Davidson girls reassured that when the summer fun is over, the fashion fun continues...

So, yes, Summer may just be heating up, the sales are going full steam, the tennis and – dare I say it – football are in full swing... but, and without wanting to jinx ANY of the aforementioned precious British summertime!, I’m going to do that annoying fashion thing and talk all things Autumn Winter... because we have some fabulous new pieces in for the new season! And when the summer sadly fades away, you’ve got plenty of solace in some gorgeous new season offerings to cosy up in and chase the winter blues away with. (See, I’m not being a complete summer baa-humbug!)

And where to begin?

Clements Ribeiro marched straight to the top of Jane Davidson favourites list last season with their stunning black and striped military-esque cardigans and cool Britannia zip and pearl embellished Union Jack tops, and impressively, the dynamic duo have wowed us yet again! Their latest drop is a collection of four vintage scarf dresses (like the picture above, although that particular dress is not part of the Jane Davidson collection): each one completely unique and made entirely from vintage scarves (literally does what it says on the tin!), with every scarf meticulously sourced from across Europe – some even dating back to the 50s and 60s. In rich, vibrant colours they’re perfect to be worn straight away throughout summer, but are a quirky yet timeless piece for a discerning fashionista’s wardrobe. Another inspiringly unique creation from this talented pair – Clements Ribeiro, we salute you!

And Diane Von Furstenberg: never one to disappoint, Ms V-F has some stunning knitwear pieces in for the new season. Particular mention must go to her grey wool, embellished military style cardigan as well as her blue chunky knit, woven with ribbon detailing ... I love. Also a prominent feature of the new collection is gorgeous over sized knits in black, grey, and a very quirky camel, black and red print – if it wasn’t almost blasphemy, I would dare to say they make me want to wrap up now... and for a summer lover, that says a lot!

Missoni, Armani, and Red Valentino too have some stunning new pieces for Autumn Winter. All three in fact have paid homage in their own inimitable ways to the classic Chanel little tweed jacket: Missoni have a striking blue tweed, round neck, collarless jacket, with a slightly rouched edge, available with a matching skirt; Red Valentino have a really pretty soft grey and pink tweed, with an unfinished trim, also available with a matching dress; whilst Armani have a stunning black and multicoloured tweed jacket, trimmed with black velvet – very, very chic! All three look fabulous worn with their complementing pieces, but are equally great paired with a simple jean or trouser for a very elegant but more casual look.

With that in mind, go laze in the summer sun by the pool, beach, barbeque, or tennis court, and think about what tempting treats lie in store for the Autumn. Don’t say we’re not good to you!
